This weekend was the exhibition of the Spring Festival of Creative Arts Eistedffod. I was particularly excited to go, because a few weeks previously, I had been encouraged to enter by my blogging friend and now real life friend, Sue of Just Sew Sue. I decided to enter my Vintage India quilt.
So when I arrived, I of course rushed over to the quilt section, along with my daughter, who spotted my quilt immediately.
And on closer inspection, I was delighted to see that I had been awarded a SILVER!!
All quilts get marked, from Platinum, gold, silver, bronze to copper. So for my first ever entry, I was thrilled :-)
And my goodness, what a wealth of creative talent there is here in Jersey. Look at all this beautiful work. I could have stayed for hours.
And it's not just reserved for adults, there was some wonderful entries by school children too.
The flower arranging was stunning;
And I just loved this embroidered piece with it's teeny tiny details.
I took so many photos and I only wish I could have stayed longer. But sadly my one year old's attention span and ability to appreciate art is limited, and after about 45 minutes it was time to go.
So I just want to say a huge thank you to Sue who gave me the confidence to enter. Do hop over to her blog and take a look, her work is truly stunning, and worthy of the many Eistedffod prizes that she won.
Back soon to share with you a quilt finish that I'm very excited about :-)
Linking up with Plum and June's Monday Link Up.

Congratulations on Silver. Your quilt is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking lately that I'd like to visit Jersey!
Congratulations Sarah!
ReplyDeleteWell done!:-) I remember the frustration of the one-year old's attention span! You have to look at everything really FAST, and hope that you have some time left at the end to come back to your favourite bits.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Looks like a lot of fun. Glad you did well!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the silver. I am too chicken to enter shows!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, your quilt deserved an award! I love the colors and the placement of the fabric in the quilt. I would have loved to go to that show. It looks like a lot to see and take in.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
Well done Sarah! That is so exciting. Your your quilt is certainly deserving of the honor :-)
ReplyDeleteI have your quilt safe and sound to rerun to you on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your silver! I have only ever entered my quilts in local agricultural shows. I received some prizes, but I'm not one who would enter quilts in a huge quilt show specifically. I can often be heard saying aloud as I make something less than perfect "welll it's never going to be in a quilt show"!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! That is so great! Beautiful quilt! I found you from the Plum and June Link up. I am at nellsnotions.blogspot.com Cheers!
ReplyDeleteCongratulaions! It's a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat is so exciting, Sarah. Well done and loads of congrats!
